This blog is a personal journal of my journey to lose weight, get fit and become a healthier me. At the beginning of this year, I set the goal of losing 106 pounds by year’s end — to reach the goal weight of 249 in 2009. I chose to share this very personal part of my life as a form of accountability, as an update to those friends and family who are following my progress and as an encouragement to others fighting the same battle.
Each day, I weigh in and update the chart and information box located in the sidebar. Since there are often significant fluctuations from day-to-day (and within each day, as I’ve discovered), I have adopted a weekly “official” benchmark to better represent the overall trend of my weight loss. These weekly weigh-in benchmarks are noted by the stars on the weight chart.
The information box below the chart tracks various stats, including trivial items like how many days since I’ve last had a soft drink, which is one of my secondary goals to go the first quarter of this year without a cola — originally I was going to just do it for January, but easily blew past that goal!
In the coming weeks, I will also begin tracking my fitness quest as well.
